What is your suggestion or idea?

Section C-2.2 Second Paragraph

Change the words ““discipline of Love”” to ““practice 0f Love.””

What is the reason for your amendment idea?

The word ““discipline”” has negative social and sexual connotations. The 4th principle in the 1960’s used to read ““A free and disciplined search…”” but because of those connotations was changed to ““A free and responsible search…”” Let’s not go backward.

Have you discussed this idea with your congregation or other UUs?

The above was sent to the congregation’s article 2 group. One reply was received indicating that individual’s positive attitude toward the change.

To Address the very point you are making, replace Discipline with “response ability” (of Love).
“Practice” - is not ringing true. Glad you brought this up.
