Wednesday evening. . .

For those of us who will be in Baltimore, there is an in-person Exhibit Hall open house that follows immediately after a general business session that is all-virtual (itself the last of 3 all-virtual sessions). Is there a place in the convention center where folks can watch those sessions to be able to be at the Exhibit Hall at the start of the open house? This is particularly an issue for us exhibitors; it would be rude to not be there to welcome visitors, but my hotel is a 15- to 20-minute bus ride from the center. Thoughts? Maybe there will be a group of exhibitors in the hall wanting to watch together? I am curious; why nothing in person on Wednesday? It will be weird being there but being only on screen.

The Commission on Social Witness will have exhibits on Wednesday night. It’s an opportunity to learn about the Commission’s good work. And it’s an opportunity for social justice activists (and other folks) to meet to exchange information. The Commission has information about its exhibits.

Yes, and I would like to go—but it starts right at the end of the general session, which as a delegate I feel obligated to attend in its entirety. However, that general session is online only, so I have to figure out where to watch it so that I can get to the exhibit hall as close to 7 as possible (especially if some folks stop by our booth; I would not want it to be unattended).

There are no locations to screen the Wednesday online events (Banner Parade, Opening Ceremony, and General Session I). That said there will be free wifi available to attendees in the convention center with bandwidth fast enough to watch the stream. These events will also be recorded and available for viewing shortly afterwards.

Setup crews have a condensed schedule this year and will still be getting the General Session hall and meeting spaces setup Wednesday. Rather than cramming more into Thursday’s schedule, the decision was made to hold these as online events.

Thanks for the info, Larry! So it seems as though I can find a spot somewhere to watch on my laptop—I’m impressed with free WiFi, not usual in convention centers. I had already been planning to bring a hotspot, so it looks as though I will be able to do both. Thanks @>@>
