A statement of Conscience is external, a business resolution is Internal. Hope that helps.
Yes, the democratic process is messy, but I think we all benefit from asking questions and following the guides put in place for us as delegates. The sense that I get, and I could be wrong, is that you were sharing your experiences, but they were not related to the amendment being voted on for the Business Resolution, and completely unrelated to the Credentialing process. It seems to me that these discussion boards are the place for that sort of sharing, rather than the pro or con mic before the vote is called. I wonder why/how you feel sharing your lived experience and values, when not addressing the issue at hand, moves the process forward in helping clarify these topics so delegates can make an informed vote?
thank you for this, do you have a place where these articles are compiled and esily accessible after GA? It would be helpful for the conversations ahead.
Thank you for your work, and the many spoons you brought to GA.
Often, a personal experience can help those looking at issues to understand the specific individual effects. I appreciate that Patrick realized that his was too far off topic and apologized at the beginning of his next presentationābut I also realize that we are told when preparing for a legislative visit to share our personal perspective: āstories change mindsā.
Right now I do most of my work in a private facebook group āYou might wanna learn more about trans peopleā, but am going to be making a substack to collect all of my various writings (itās sort of like subscribing to a newsletter but for blogs/writing), but itās empty for now. If you sign up youāll be getting some educational posts soon!
Anyone is more than welcome to follow/friend me on FB, I have an entirely public profile to be open, honest, and raw about what life is like when you have multiple intersections. I do trans, disability, neurodivergence, mental health, and suicide awareness discussions, usually with personal examples.
