What is the reason for your amendment idea?
The proposed Values and Covenant section is way too wordy. It is cumbersome and verging on vacuous, as it is centered on LOVE, of which there are many kinds,and which is never defined in this section. With all due respect to the Article II Commission, the proposed wording strikes me as something that might have been written by a group of Woodstock attendees in 1969. And importantly, it is NOT poetic. The existing seven principles are poetic in their conciseness and are invaluable as daily mantras as well as for responding to non-UUs who ask about UUism.
