Submission 408

What is your suggestion or idea?

Section C-2.1. Purposes
…formation, to heal historic injustices, and to advance our Unitarian Universalist principles and values in the world.
The purpose of the Unitarian Universalist Association is to actively engage its members in the transformation of the world through reason, action, and liberating Love.

What is the reason for your amendment idea?

In my opinion, principles and values have different meanings and both are important for our faith. Principles are founded on reason. Values come from the heart. Love animates them both. And love without action does nothing to improve ourselves or the world.

Have you discussed this idea with your congregation or other UUs?

Several other Board members and members of two UU congregations. All agree.
