What is your suggestion or idea?
The current 7 principles should be retained as they are.
The sources should include Humanism which is a major movement that has influenced UU thinking over the past 100 years.
Delete the word ““liberating”” from all places where it is used.
What is the reason for your amendment idea?
The draft is regressive, moving away from liberal freethinking to a more narrow approach to being a UU.
Have you discussed this idea with your congregation or other UUs?
Yes I have. I have spoken at a Board meeting, at formal covenant meetings, and committee meetings. We are having ongoing discussion about pro and con views of the draft.
