What is your suggestion or idea?
My suggestion is to keep all 7 current principles and add the eighth.
What is the reason for your amendment idea?
The new materials embody an excellent action plan to carry out the succinct meaning of our eight principles.
When I might be asked about our UU faith, the principles as they exist say what I believe; the new work says how I can act according to those beliefs.
It would be hard to put the new work into “the elevator speech”.
Have you discussed this idea with your congregation or other UUs?
We had a discussion of the new proposal in a group setting-20 of us from our 90 member congregation.
