Define “Inspirations” more explicitly in Section C-2.3
What is the reason for your amendment idea?
Overall, I am in strong support of the proposed changes to Article II and support the work of the commission. I believe that there is value in naming our history, even briefly, and acknowledging the historical theological roots of Unitarianism and Universalism from which we take our name. Additionally, naming spiritual and philosophical traditions which inspire our congregations help people who are seeking a spiritual home to know that they are welcome. For instance, the naming of both Christianity and earth-based spirituality in the current Article II made me feel as if I finally found a tradition that welcomed my full spiritual journey and practice.
