What is your suggestion or idea?

I preferred to make no change. If we committ to affirm and promote our 7 principles we will in my opinion have the best chance at achieving justice and peace in the world.

What is the reason for your amendment idea?

Have you discussed this idea with your congregation or other UUs?

Amen! We have never been provided any convincing reason why Article II must be changed. If the Principles are to be removed or altered, there must be wide support for the “problem” being addressed.

I am gratified someone made this suggestion first - thank you. I, too, would suggest making no changes to the current Article II. I realize we U-U’s can be a very detail-oriented lot, but stepping back and taking a broad view of the current Article II, I cannot see that the proposed changes say anything essentially different … the new proposals are just wordier. So my vote is not to make any changes. Thanks for reading.

There’s much room for innovation with the current Article II.
