In its charge to the Article II Study Commission, the UUA Board asked that Article II be “brief” and “inspirational, memorable and poetic.” (p.8) To this end, this amendment proposes that values and covenant statements be limited to one short sentence each.

Section C-2.2 Values and Covenant

Love: Love is our life spirit, the power motivating us to act on our shared values.

Shared Values

Interdependence: We honor the interdependent web of all existence.
Pluralism: We celebrate diversity in race, culture, experience and theology.
Justice: We foster Beloved Communities where all people thrive.
Transformation: We nurture our capacity for spiritual and ethical maturity.
Generosity: We cultivate a spirit of gratitude and hope.
Equity: We affirm the inherent worth and dignity of every person.
Covenant:We covenant to support one another in doing the work of living our shared values.
