What is your suggestion or idea?
A format suggestion: A list of concise statements of principles (or values, if you prefer) is more effective and memorable than a diagram of a circle of single words.
As a compromise, the two formats could both be included.
Certain parts of the Principles and Sources should be preserved, particularly Principles 1,2 3 and 7.
Also, the proposed version lacksl acknowledgment of the first source, the experience of transcendent mystery and wonder, and in general the importance of cultivating the spiritual depth of our faith.
What is the reason for your amendment idea?
Have you discussed this idea with your congregation or other UUs?
Yes–We had a 5-congregation cluster meeting, and in the congregation a small-group session and part of a Social Justice Committee meeting about the subject.
There was general recognition of the validity of these suggestions.
