What is your suggestion or idea?
Remove Section C-2.3. Inspirations. and replace it with current Sources
What is the reason for your amendment idea?
We are an historic faith with a specific history and specific roots and sources. The proposed statement of inspirations doesn’t actually list any specific sources of inspiration. When this concern was brought to the Commission they said they were concerned that the Sources could become a laundry list. If this is a real concern a few tweaks to the introduction of the sources to make it clear that it is a list of historic sources for our tradition rather than a limit on personal UUs belief and practice should resolve that.

In the multiple discussions that have happened about the Article II proposal in my congregation they weakness of the ““Inspirations”” statement has been a common topic.
