What is your suggestion or idea?

add a line inserting where appropriate

We honor our heritage that includes, but is not limited to
transcending mystery in all cultures, words and deeds of prophetic people, world religions, Jewish and Christian traditions, humanist teachings, and earth -centered traditions .

What is the reason for your amendment idea?

The sources of UU are indirectly spoken to but not delineated. I believe the suggested amendment will blend our past and our future. We are many beliefs, one faith, united by love .
Seems a theology of love grows from these sources-religious teachings, humanist teachings, love of the earth. Seems that those who seek a definition of love will turn to philosophers and religious sources that give guidance.

Also the suggested line should win support of those who are concerned about the changes moving us from a religion to a collective. The suggested addition makes clear we are still a religion.

Have you discussed this idea with your congregation or other UUs?

I did a workshop on Proposal to UU Fellowship of Dubuque.
The idea developed from that membership.
