What is your suggestion or idea?

Section C-2.5. Freedom of belief. Congregational freedom and the individual’s rights of conscience, free speech and belief are central to our Unitarian Universalist heritage. Congregations may establish statements of purpose, covenants, and bonds of union so long as they do not require that members adhere to a particular creed.

What is the reason for your amendment idea?

Guarantees of freedom of speech and freedom of belief go back 500 years, guaranteeing them in a freedom of belief section seems to be to be a basic right we would all want for ourselves.

Have you discussed this idea with your congregation or other UUs?

no, am acting on my own.

Excellent. Protection of freedom of speech and expression is particularly important since Widening the Circle no longer views that freedom as a value and would undermine it for ideological reasons.
