What is your suggestion or idea?

Add this covenanting sentence to current Article II (deleting all of the proposed revision): WE COVENANT TO COMMITTING TIME, ENERGY, AND RESOURCES TOWARDS PUTTING THESE PRINCIPLES INTO ACTION.

What is the reason for your amendment idea?

The Principles are the heart of Unitarian Universalism. The only thing lacking is a strong commitment to putting them to work in the real world.

Have you discussed this idea with your congregation or other UUs?

Yes. Most people agree we need to keep the Principles, and also agree we need to commit to being more active in living the Principles.

I like this idea. It addresses the concern that some people have raised that we do not explicitly state the need to act in accordance with the principles. I submitted proposal #304, to add 8th principle and statement about work grounded in love. Would you mind if I also added this statement?
