What is your suggestion or idea?
Reinstate the 6th Principle, which is completely missing: ““The goal of world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all.””
What is the reason for your amendment idea?
It is shameful that the proposed changes would ignore the world community. At a time when authoritarianism is on the march, we would turn ourselves to inward navel gazing. Now it the time, of all times, to assert ourselves and our values.
Have you discussed this idea with your congregation or other UUs?
Not with the congregation as a whole. We have been prevented from having discussion about anything that might undermine or question the proposed revisions to Article II. Yes, I have discussed with these issues with fellow UUs, who share my concern.
