I am a 75 year old white woman who has been brought up within the UU church since the age of 7, my first church being the Third Unitarian Church of Chicago, where my father was at one time an RE director. My parents were Biosophers who worked for peace in the 30’s, 40’s and beyond, and taught me the value of reason, above superstition and mere tradition, in accord with Spinoza ( whom I study and take as my theological foundation) . My next UU church was in Pittsfield, MA, whereI was active in LRY, followed by the Universalist Church of New Haven, where I was an RE ( volunteer) director, the UU church, in Hartland Four Corners , Vermont and the Eno River UUFellowship of Durham, NC, where I served in many capacities Now I hold membership in the Community Church of Chapel Hill, UU. My trans-son served a term as president of his UU Church in South Berkshire. This is my 5th GA. I have seen much change and growth. I affirm the values of peace and reason along with the other principles.
